Araucaria Ecotours offers quality wildlife experiences designed by a research ecologist with PhD in zoology and long experience in enjoyable educational presentations and excursions for all ages.

Wildlife experts take small-group tours (usually from Brisbane) to mountains, rainforests, bushland, wetlands, beaches and genuine outback habitats to seek kangaroos, koalas, birds, reptiles, frogs and other wildlife and enhance understanding of their ecology and what makes our wildlife different from other regions.

Day tours include wildlife-viewing (kangaroos, birds etc.), bird-watching (novice to experienced) and an island with quiet sandy beaches, mangroves and coastal forests.

A 3-day wildlife overview tour introduces Australia's major groups of wildlife and ecosystems while viewing many species in a variety of habitats.

Outback tours are run in Spring and Autumn

Custom tours (day-trip or multi-day) are possible.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome on most tours. Walking is gentle, with emphasis on viewing, learning and photography. Seniors, families, students and special interest groups are happily catered for. Special diets can be accommodated.

Weekend nature activities are for families, groups or individuals and include games, arts and crafts and introduction to pursuits such as birdwatching, plant identification and basic ecology.

All regular tours have advanced eco-certification. The proprietors contribute to various wildlife conservation and research projects, Guests sometimes have an opportunity to be citizen scientists or conservation volunteers.
